Ahhh, TV On The Radio, what more can I say? Their performance was top notch, grade A. Opening with Dirtywhirl was a stroke of genius. The song set the tone for the evening, and put Irving Plaza on warning that lead singer, Tunde Adebimpe, was bringing 100% pure emotion to his performance. During Blues From Down Here, Tunde, delivered the line “pull the pin, drop it in, let it wash away” with a steely gaze. Later on in the set, I Was A Lover and New Health Rock, provided a powerful one-two punch that had Irving Plaza on its knees. Wolf Like Me played as the thundering and marauding rock and roll song it was meant to be. During Let The Devil In, the band brought out Grizzly Bear and friends to dance around, conjure up the devil, and transform the song into a spiritual hymn. TV On The Radio put everyone on notice that they’re the best rock n’ roll band around.
