Beck's new album, The Information, hits stores On Tuesday, October 3rd. From what I've heard, it sounds like a keeper. Beck, in his infinite wisdom, (scientology) has created a lo-fi video for every song on The Information. Click here to watch one of the lo-fi video's, for the song No Complaints. At one point, most of the videos were on youtube, only to be taken down by Beck's record company. If you search around, I'm sure the other videos can be located in dark places. For the curios, NME has filled us in on how The Information sounds...
'The Information' finds Beck back with producer Nigel Godrich, the long-term Radiohead producer we last saw credited as arranger on Thom Yorke's 'The Eraser'. And indeed, it shares several traits with Yorke's album. There's the same sense of future disquiet. There's a similar use of ghostly electronics and outer-limit psychedelics. But, importantly, there's the the same feeling this is an artist genuinely using technology as a tool of exploration, not just buggering around with electronics to pass the time before the next tour. Read the rest of the NME review.
Here's a LIVE Beck MP3. BUY the new album here and here.

A video for every song? Just like Sonic Youth's Goo! More bands need to do this.
