Sometimes I have a yearning for guitars, LOUD guitars, and lots of feedback. Sometimes I need my ears to bleed and my innards to vibrate uncontrollably. Not many bands can pull this off, so I get very excited when I find one that can. Enter Boris. For those of you not familiar:
Boris is a Japanese band, known to regularly switch musical genres between albums. Genres the band have played so far include drone doom, stoner rock, psychedelic rock, noise, ambient music, sludge, and straight-ahead rock music.Their name was taken from the Melvins song "Boris," from that band's album Bullhead. Much of Boris's early work is firmly in the stoner rock and drone metal genres. The band's latest album Pink was met with considerable critical praise, exposing many more to their current blend of drone and Motörhead-inspired jams. (via Wikipedia)
