Back to my Monday night at Northsix...
Right after Pissed Jeans shook the stage, and before Boris melted it, another Pennsylvania band, Pearls and Brass took the baton. Is Nazareth, Pennsylvania the new Montreal? No!! But P & B didn’t waste anytime channeling Led Zeppelin and Black Sabbath. Pearls and Brass wear their influences on their sleeve, not in a Wolfmother way, but in a more organic, slave to classic rock way. As if they came out of the womb with riffs in mind. But don’t write Pearls and Brass off as a nostalgia band. They take their revered sound of the 70’s and transport it to the 00’s, and induce a devil horn or two along the way. Oh, and their drummer looks like animal...seriously.
